About this work

Bell-shaped cup and saucer of porcelain, painted on the glaze in red, black and gold. On the foot of the saucer a medallion with a boy and a butterfly in a landscape; around the medallion eight petal-shaped compartments with alternately the boy in the landscape and a tree; between the compartments scrollwork; on the rim a band with lacework alternated with a flower in a cartouche. The cup with the same decoration. Encre de Chine.
