About this work

Baluster-shaped vase of soft-paste porcelain (pâte tendre) with a wide, straight neck and trumpet-shaped rim, painted in underglaze blue. The vase is covered with stylized flower vines; around the base of the neck a band with spirals. Marked on the bottom with the four-character mark of Emperor Chenghua. The rim has been broken. Blue and white.
