About this work

Lid of a ribbed porcelain lidded jar, painted in underglaze blue and overglaze red, green, yellow, black, and gold. Two bouquets of flowers, stems tied together in a holder depicted; along the rim a band with scrollwork; panels alternately covered with red with floral scrolls in reserve and light red with floral scrolls in gold; light red with lotus scrolls in gold; around the knob a band with loose flowers and a diamond with swastika in reserve against a red ground. Famille verte.
