About this work

Formal miyamairi kimono for a girl for her first visit to a Shinto shrine, decorated on the lower part of the sleeves, front and back panels with blooming peonies, chrysanthemums, hibiscus, balloon flowers, and ominaeshi. Purple silk with damask-woven paulownia, chrysanthemum, and bamboo motifs, yuzen-painted decoration, and embroidered detailing. Red silk lining. Five family crests (mon) of melon (mokko).
