About this work

Formal kimono for a girl for her first visit to a Shinto shrine (miyamairi kimono), decorated with wild carnations in red, green, blue, white and orange, with stylized waves running between them, on a purple background. Purple gauze-woven crepe silk (ro chirimen) with painted yuzen decoration and embroidered detailing. Lining of white gauze-woven crepe silk (ro chirimen). Five family crests (mon) of bamboo.
