Formal kimono for a boy for his first visit to a Shinto shrine (miyamairi kimono), decorated with a Chinese lion (karashishi), hind legs in the air, front legs standing on a stylized rock formation with waves and clouds, against a background of square sheets of gold foil, like a room screen. Black silk with painted yuzen decoration in green, white and various shades of grey, green and orange, with embroidered detailing and gold foil. Lining of cream silk. Five family crests (mon) of paulownia (kiri).
