About this work

Hexagonal bowl of porcelain with spreading wall and scalloped rim, painted in underglaze blue and on the glaze blue, red, green, yellow, aubergine, black and gold. The outside with in each of the six compartments a different narrative scene about Lü Dongbin; on the bottom antiquities; the rim on the inside with a geometric pattern alternated with cartouches with flower branches. Marked on the underside with the six-character mark of Emperor Chenghua. Four chips in the rim. Famille verte.
