About this work
Hexagonal bowl of porcelain with spreading wall and scalloped rim, painted in underglaze blue and on the glaze blue, red, green, yellow, aubergine, black and gold. The outside with in each of the six compartments a different narrative scene about Lü Dongbin; on the bottom antiquities; the rim on the inside with a geometric pattern alternated with cartouches with flower branches. On the underside marked with the six-character mark of Emperor Chenghua. A crack in the rim; several chips in the rim; chip in the foot ring. Famille verte.
