About this work

Porcelain plate, painted in underglaze blue and in blue, red, green, black and gold on the glaze. On the flat, a large lotus plant and a weeping willow; on the wall and rim, four groups with a rock, a fence and flowering plants such as Japanese aster, peony and bamboo; above these groups, a band with lotus scrolls against a black ground; between the groups, a compartment with scrollwork and chrysanthemum scrolls against a blue ground. Chinese Imari.
