About this work
Bell-shaped bowl of porcelain, with lobed wall and scalloped rim, painted in underglaze blue with a compartment decoration. On the outside of the bowl eight compartments with alternating a woman, one with a fan, in a landscape and flower branches such as peony, prunus and camellia; on the bottom a seated woman. Marked on the underside with the six-character mark of Emperor Chenghua in a double circle. A chip in the rim. Blue and white.
