About this work
Square porcelain bowl with flat corners and a scalloped rim, painted in underglaze blue. On the exterior four compartments each containing a woman (long dress) in a landscape, the flattened corners with lacework above a ruyi motif; on the base three playing boys (fools) in a landscape. Marked on the underside with the six-character mark of Emperor Chenghua in a double circle. Blue and white.
