About this work
Porcelain teapot with a ribbed, globular body and S-shaped spout, painted in underglaze blue. The body is divided into panels alternating between a flowering plant (chrysanthemum, peony) and a person seated on an enclosed terrace; the shoulder features a band of lacework alternating with a flower in a cartouche. Fitted with a 19th-century silver mount and handle by Arnoldi & Wielick, Amsterdam 1850. Kraak porcelain.
