About this work

Bowl of porcelain with a scalloped rim, painted in underglaze blue. On the base a pheasant on a rock among flowering plants (chrysanthemum) and clouds; the inner wall and rim are divided into two broad panels with a monster head below a lucky object (artemisia leaf, castanets) in a scalloped cartouche and two panels with a flower branch below lacework in a scalloped cartouche; between them four narrow panels with bows; the outer rim with two plum branches; the outer wall with four scalloped cartouches with a peach branch and four narrow panels with a scepter. Marked on the underside with a crane/heron. Kraak porcelain in blue and white.
