About this work

Klapmuts bowl of porcelain with a scalloped edge, painted in underglaze blue. On the bottom a cricket on a rock among flowering plants (peony, orchid). The inner wall is divided into four broad compartments with a peach or flowering branch in a scalloped cartouche; between them four narrow compartments with bows. The inner rim with the same cartouches on napkin work; the narrow compartments with a ruyi motif. The outer rim with three flowering vines; the outer wall with four medallions with dots and four narrow compartments. Some chips in the rim. Kraak porcelain in blue and white.
