About this work

Egg-shaped lidded pot of porcelain with wooden lid, painted in underglaze blue and on the glaze red, green, yellow, aubergine and black. On the wall four large compartments with a bracket-shaped top filled with flowering plants birds or butterflies with insects; between the compartments flower vines against a green speckled ground; around the foot a decorative border with flowers; around the shoulder a decorative border with geometric motif alternated with cartouches with flower branches. A double circle on the underside. The wooden lid is openwork with a flower branch motif and six flowers and has a medallion of openwork jade. Famille verte.
