About this work

Slender egg-shaped pot with lid of porcelain, painted on the glaze in blue, red, green, yellow, aubergine, and black with two pairs of lobed cartouches staggered above each other containing rocks, flowers, and butterflies separated by a band with scattered flowers against a green field with black dots. In the cartouches are depicted the four seasonal flowers: peony (spring), lotus (summer), chrysanthemum (autumn), and prunus (winter). Around the foot and shoulder, a band with geometric motifs. On the lid, a stylized chrysanthemum and a band with geometric motifs alternating with precious objects. Lid glued on; lid not original. Famille verte.
