About this work

Tall, slender oval-shaped pot with lid and knob of porcelain, painted on the glaze in blue, red, green, yellow, aubergine and black with two pairs of lobed cartouches staggered above one another containing rocks, flowers and butterflies separated by a band with scattered flowers against a green field with black dots. In the cartouches are depicted the four seasonal flowers: peony (spring), lotus (summer), chrysanthemum (autumn) and prunus (winter). Around the foot is an unglazed rim; around the shoulder a decorative band with hatching. On the lid a stylized chrysanthemum and a decorative band with hatching. Famille verte. NB: broken in box.
