About this work

Egg-shaped lidded porcelain pot with wooden lid, painted in underglaze blue and overglaze red, green, yellow, aubergine and black. On the body four large compartments with an arched top filled with flowering plants, birds or butterflies with insects; between the compartments floral scrolls on a green speckled ground; around the foot a decorative border with flowers; around the shoulder a decorative border with a geometric motif alternating with cartouches containing floral sprigs. A double circle on the underside. Famille verte.
