About this work
Egg-shaped lidded pot of porcelain on a high foot with ring-shaped thickening, painted in underglaze blue. On the body six molded compartments with in each a woman (long robe) or a flower vase (lotus, chrysanthemum); below six smaller molded compartments with fruit branches; the foot with a flower and fruit branch; on the neck a band with meander motif above which pointed leaves; the lid with precious objects (books, pearl, mugwort leaf). Permanently glued lid; two chips in the rim of the lid. Blue and white.
