About this work

Teapot of porcelain with a handle, straight spout, and flat lid with a knob, painted in underglaze blue. On the body alternating large and small leaf-shaped cartouches from the foot and hanging from the shoulder, filled with scrolls in reserve; between the compartments loose blossoms; around the foot a band with scrollwork in reserve; around the shoulder a band with lacework; the spout with scrolls in reserve and loose blossoms; on the handle scrollwork. The lid with the same pattern of leaf-shaped cartouches and a band with a geometric motif, on the knob a flower. Marked on the underside with the character 'Yù', jade. Lid glued in place. Blue and white.
