About this work

Egg-shaped lidded jar of porcelain, painted in underglaze blue. The wall and shoulder covered with continuous leaf scrolls. On the neck a band with pointed leaf motifs. Marked on the underside with the four-character mark of Emperor Chenghua. Rim is unglazed; lid missing. Two cracks in the rim. Blue and white.
