About this work

Porcelain dish with a scalloped rim, painted in underglaze blue and in enamel colours of blue, red, green, yellow, aubergine and black. The flat surface features a qilin and a flying feng huang in a landscape with rocks, peony plants and a tree before a fence on the right, and a pot with prunus, pine and bamboo on a rock on the left; the rim is decorated six times with a flower rosette with four ruyi motifs in a lobed cartouche surrounded by a geometric pattern, alternating six times with a plant (lotus, chrysanthemum, peony) or a river landscape in a cartouche. Marked on the underside with an artemisia leaf in a double circle. Rim damaged. Old auction label on the underside. Famille verte.
