About this work

Bottle of porcelain with a globular body and a narrow neck, painted in underglaze blue and on the glaze red, green, black and gold. On the body three shaped cartouches containing rocks and the 'three friends of winter' (pine, bamboo, prunus); around the cartouches scrollwork with half-flower rosettes below and above. On the shoulder a band with a meander pattern with raised, pointed leaf motifs. The rim with three times hanging vines. Around the foot a decorative band. Imari.
