About this work
Porcelain dish with a ribbed wall and an acanthus-shaped rim, painted in underglaze blue. On the flat, a group in a landscape. Three figures stand next to a banana plant among plants; to the left, two more figures. In the background, a pavilion with a flag between trees. The wall is divided into semi-circular compartments filled with scrolls. The exterior wall with a continuous lotus scroll. Marked on the underside with the six-character mark of Emperor Chenghua. Three firing flaws on the underside. Arita, blue and white.
