About this work
In the foreground the singing Sirens, who lured sailors to their doom. Odysseus has himself tied to the mast and his men hold course, as they have plugged their ears so as not to hear the song. In the background the ship of Odysseus passes the sea monster Scylla, who devours six of his men. The print is part of an album.
