About this work
Cloelia escapes with a friend to Rome by riding across the Tiber. Various women watch from the shore. In the left foreground, Romulus and Remus are suckled by a she-wolf. Next to it lies the river god of the Tiber with the Cornucopia over his shoulder. His arm rests on an overturned urn from which water flows. With an inscription in three columns in Latin. The print is part of an album.
