About this work
Depiction of the second story that the crow Cornix tells the white raven Corvus. Cornix (sometimes also confusingly called Coronis) was the daughter of Coroneus in Phocis. When she walked along the beach as a girl, the sea god Neptune tried to assault her. Minerva came to Cornix's aid and turned her into a crow. Below the image, two times two lines of verse in Latin. The print is part of an album.
