About this work

Apollo gives his child Asclepius, whom he cut from Coronis' womb after shooting her dead, to the centaur Chiron. In the background, Chiron's daughter can be seen turning into a horse after predicting the future of Asclepius and her father. Below the image, two times two lines of verse in Latin. The print is part of an album.
