About this work
The prophet Ahijah has torn his cloak into twelve pieces and hands ten pieces to Jeroboam. The torn cloak symbolizes the division of the Jewish people. Jeroboam became king of ten of the twelve tribes. Below the image, a reference in Latin to the biblical text in 1 Kings 11. The print is part of an album.
