About this work
Thisbe flees from a lion from the place where she is to meet her beloved Pyramus. In her flight, she loses her veil. Later, Pyramus finds the veil stained with ox blood. He thinks that Thisbe has been swallowed and commits suicide. Below the representation, two times two lines of verse in Latin. The print is part of an album.
