About this work
Despite the crow Cornix's warning, the white raven Corvus tells Apollo of the adultery of his beloved Coronis. Since then, all ravens have been black. The god shoots the pregnant Coronis dead with arrow and bow. Before her body was cremated, Apollo took the child Asclepius from her womb. Below the image, two times two lines of verse in Latin. The print is part of an album.
