About this work

Third battle between the fleet of the WIC under Willem Cornelisz. Loos and the Portuguese fleet off the coast of Paraiba, 14 January 1640. In the sky a winged scroll with the title and two smoke horns. In the caption the explanation of the letters A-E and the numbers 1-7 in Latin. Plate no. 44 in a series of 55 depictions of the journey to and stay in Brazil of Count Johan Maurits of Nassau in the years 1636-1644.
