About this work
Woman in négligé. According to the accompanying text, she wears a 'new robe and chemise'. On her head a 'Bonnet en Pouf' of 'gaze d'Italie', trimmed with a bow in 'queue-de-Serin'. Gown with double collar and large strips (falbala) of taffeta in light purple. Linen cuffs. The gown is fastened at the front with a bow in 'queue-de-Serin'. Shoes of satin in the same color, with a strip of black ribbon on the instep. The print forms part of the 7th Cahier from Cabinet des Modes ou les Modes Nouvelles. The series consists of 72 fashion prints, published by Buisson, Paris, 15 November 1785 - 1 November 1786.
