According to the accompanying text (p. 214): 'Fig. 1. Rich costume for ladies. Straw hat with a taffeta ball. Rich dress in the color nankin (yellowish cotton). Starched collerette with a silk neckerchief. Green gloves and shoes. Fig. 2. Capote with pleats at the back, the front trimmed with flowers, a pink ribbon tied under the chin. Finely pleated collerette in two layers. Japon of white muslin with a pink ribbon as a ceintuur. Green silk shawl (over the arm). Yellow gloves. White shoes. The print is part of the fashion magazine Journal des Dames et des Modes, published in Frankfurt as a copy of the French edition by Pierre de La Mésangère, (1798-1848).
