About this work

A soldier, full-length, facing right, holding a musket (a specific type of firearm) with his left hand by his left thigh and with his right hand inserting the ramrod into the barrel to push down the powder and ball (no. 26), ca. 1600. Plate 26 from the instructions for handling the musket: Corte onderwysinghe op de figuerliicke afbeeldinghe, belanghende t'rechte ghebruyck des Roers.
