A soldier on guard, full-length, facing right, holding a caliver (a specific type of firearm) with both hands at his right side, his right index finger on the trigger, the barrel pointing diagonally upwards (no. 36), ca. 1600. In his left hand, besides the barrel of the caliver, he holds a lit match. Plate 36 in the instructions for handling the caliver: Shorte instruction upon the contrefaictinges, touching the right use of calivers.
