A soldier, full-length, facing right, holding a musket (a specific type of firearm) with his right hand, the barrel pointing upwards, before placing the weapon on his left shoulder (no. 32), ca. 1600. In his outstretched left hand he holds a lit match; at his left wrist a fork (musket fork). Plate 32 in the instructions for handling the musket: Shorte instruction for the figures, so much concerneth the right use of muskett.
