A soldier, full-length, facing right, holding a musket (a specific type of firearm) with his right hand, the barrel pointing upward, before placing the weapon on his left shoulder (no. 32), ca. 1600. In his outstretched left hand a burning slow match; on his left wrist a fork (musket fork). Plate 32 in the instructions for handling the musket: Brief enseignement, sur les pourtraitz figurez, touchant le droit maniement du Mousquet.
