About this work
The Portuguese Arch of Triumph (front side), December 1599. Triumphal arch decorated with allegorical scenes and figures. Centrally a representation of the greeting of Albert and Isabella by Juno. On both sides two rows of poles with burning tar barrels. Erected during the entry into Antwerp at the corner of the Huidevettersstraat. Part of: Historica narratio profectionis et inaugurationis serenissimorum Belgii principum Alberti et Isabellae Austriae archiducum, the description of the entries of the couple in Brussels, Antwerp, Ghent and Valenciennes, 1599.
