About this work
Mercury lying on the ground awakens; a devil with a money bag sits on his back. Various bystanders are present in the foreground and background. Left: the signboard of the inn named "Actie Koolpot." The image contains a four-line verse and several inscriptions in Dutch. Printed on a larger sheet between three verses, each with seven couplets of four lines. Print in the bound first edition (304 B 10) of *Het Groote Tafereel der Dwaasheid* with satirical prints on the Wind Trade or Share Trade of 1720.
