About this work
Mirror of Reason for the Desperate Actionist. A wind trader about to stab himself in the chest with a dagger is shown a mirror by the personification of Reason. In the background, Prudence holds back the wind trade with a shield marked Y (= the IJ in Amsterdam). Three parts of text surround the print on the sheet. Print in the bound first edition (304 B 11) of Het Groote Tafereel der Dwaasheid with satirical prints on the Windhandel or Actiehandel of 1720.
