About this work
The Church and Pride stir up intrigue and unrest. The Roman Catholic Church incites the bishops of Münster, Cologne, and Strasbourg, and Wilhelm Egon von Fürstenberg, to war. Centrally, the personification of the pride of the French King Louis XIV, who has more crowns on his head than he can carry. On the right, the prosperity of the Republic is viewed with envy. In the background, Catholics forge bishop's croziers into weapons; on the right, the bonds of the world are being broken. Unnumbered.
