About this work

The Netherlands seals eternal peace with England at an altar in 1674. At their feet lies a pig, as a symbol for the devastation of the war with France. French tyranny (with a hare) flees in fear. In the sky, the radiant tetragram; in the lower right, the province of Utrecht is reunited with the Union. Allegory on the political situation in the Republic in the year 1674. Numbered in the upper right: 6.
