About this work

Arrival of Archduchess Maria Anna of Austria in Lisbon as the future bride of King John V of Portugal, 27 October 1708. In the foreground, the queen surrounded by ladies-in-waiting with musical instruments and a mirror or portrait. In the background, the arrival of the fleet with which the archduchess traveled to Lisbon. Bottom left, a cartouche with a description of the events in German. Sheet in the bound collection of plates published under the title: Repraesentatio belli ... Der Spanische Successions-Krieg [ca. 1720].
