About this work

Siege and capture of Mons (Bergen) by the Allies, 25 September – 22 October 1709. The central representation of the besiegers' camp framed in a richly decorated ornamental border. Top, a cartouche containing a plan of the city and Fame with a trumpet. Bottom left, the city maiden offering the city keys and bags of coins to the young prince standing on the right next to Hercules. Center, a cartouche with a description of the events in German. Sheet in the bound collection of plates published under the title: Repraesentatio belli ... Der Spanische Successions-Krieg [ca. 1720].
