About this work

Capture of Aire. Siege of Aire by the Allies from 11 September and captured on 8 November 1710. The central representation of the camp and the siege framed in a richly decorated ornamental border with, at the top, a cartouche containing a plan of the city between two smoking bombs and two eagles. Bottom, a cartouche with a description of the events in German. On both sides, armorial trophies with symbols of the defeated French army. Sheet in the bound collection of plates published under the title: Repraesentatio belli ... Der Spanische Successions-Krieg [ca. 1720].
