About this work

The female personification of Imagination painting a picture of the Mississippi, surrounded by children blowing bubbles or reading from the Mississippi Company share book while sitting on an empty money chest. With four small scenes of other failed enterprises. Below the image is a caption with a three-column verse printed from a separate plate. Print in the bound fourth edition (304 B 12) of *Het Groote Tafereel der Dwaasheid* with satirical prints on the Wind Trade or Share Trade of 1720.
