About this work
The female personification of Imagination paints a picture of the Mississippi, surrounded by children blowing bubbles or reading from the action book of the Mississippi Company sitting on an empty money chest. With four small scenes of other failed enterprises. Below the image an inscription with a verse printed in three columns from a separate plate. Print in the bound first edition (304 B 11) of Het Groote Tafereel der Dwaasheid with caricatures on the Wind Trade or Stock Trade of 1720.
