About this work

Title page for a series on the seven works of mercy. The archangel Michael separates the good from the bad people, all rising from the dead. Christ thrones on the clouds, flanked by Mary and John. The dead are led by angels to heaven (left) or to hell (right). On the left and right of the central image ornamental trophies with objects related to the seven works of mercy. Below each trophy a reference to a Bible text in Latin. Below the image a four-line verse in Latin. This print is part of an album.
