About this work

Praying for the neighbor as one of the seven spiritual works of mercy. In the center people praying before an altar. In the background the Sermon on the Mount and Christ praying in Gethsemane. Around the central image depictions of Bible stories related to prayer. Top left Abraham pleading with the three angels to spare Sodom, top right Moses praying with his hands raised for victory, bottom right Daniel in prayer, and bottom left David in prayer. On the left and right Paul and Judas Maccabeus. Within the image various Bible texts in Latin. Below the image a four-line verse in Latin. This print is part of an album.
